What I Learned
Designing Uniistyle helped me realize how hyperlocal logistics and real-time needs in the beauty industry shape user expectations. I learned how to simplify decision-making for salon owners by combining UX clarity, system feedback, and operational transparency. I also gained insights into building for emerging markets, where simplicity and speed outweigh complexity.
Challenges I Face
Balancing the priorities of salon owners (ease, speed, price) with supplier operations (inventory control, fulfillment timelines) was complex. It required creating a platform that supports both sides without overwhelming either. Managing localization, app performance, and scaling the catalog architecture were also major UX challenges.
What I Would Improve
A usability testing with salon owners in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities to validate the design across diverse user groups. I would also explore dynamic supplier dashboards for real-time product and delivery management, and enhance microcopy and error states to minimize drop-offs during the checkout process.
